Dog Beach License Permit Application

    Complete the application below. You will be required to upload any required documentation. Provide your current contact information including either phone or email for confirmation of approval of application and payment options. New Permit fees are $40, Renewals are $40 and Lost Tag Replacements are $10.

  5. Fees for the beach dog tag is $40.00 per year per animal. ALL permits expire August 1st. Owners are required to show proof of current rabies vaccination administered by a licensed veterinarian. Proof of Walton County residency or real property ownership is required. Beach dog tags allow permitted dogs to be walked ON A LEASH on Walton County beaches between the following hours: 3:30 PM to 8:30 AM. Violation of any section of the Ordinance shall be a civil infraction the maximum penalty for which shall not exceed five hundred dollars ($500.00). Violations of animal ordinances can result in impoundment of your pet and a fine to you as owner, plus mandatory court appearances in certain circumstances. Walton County Administration serves as an agent for the Board of County Commissioners for the issuance of this permit. Neither Administration or the Board of County Commissioners is liable for the actions of animals permitted in accordance with this ordinance (i.e. property damage, bites, or other harm to persons).
  6. Section 4 - Required Documentation
    ALL DOCUMENTS MUST BE IN APPLICANTS NAME. All required documentation may be scanned, uploaded and submitted online. Please upload all required documentation in regard to your application submission as it applies.
  7. Must be either a valid Florida Driver's License with Verifiable Walton County Address or Walton County Voter Registration Card.
  8. Copy of your most recent paid property tax bill from the Walton County Tax Collector's website.
  9. Section 5 - Terms and Conditions
    All persons who wish to submit an application must understand and agree with all of the following terms and conditions.
  10. Liability Statement*
    The Board of County Commissioners is not liable for the actions of drivers permitted in accordance with this ordinance. (i.e. property damage, theft or other harm to persons)
  11. Application Acceptance Dates*
    Applications will be accepted by County on an annual basis and permits may be picked up in person during normal business hours or mailed to address provided.
  12. One Year Permit Limit*
    All permits are issued on a one year only basis and must be renewed annually.
  13. Permit Cost*
    The cost of an annual dog beach license permit shall be in the amount of $$40.00 USD.
  14. Section 6 - Submission
