Walton County Traffic Alert

Drivers will encounter traffic disruptions on the following state roads in Walton County as crews perform construction and maintenance activities.


  • U.S. 98 Radius and Pedestrian Improvements at County Road (C.R.) 30A - Radius and sidewalk construction continues. Work requiring lane closures will take place from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m.
  • U.S. 331 Shoulder Closure in Paxton-  The shoulder of U.S. 331 in Paxton will be closed between the recycling center and Staggers Creek from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, July 16 as crews perform maintenance activities.
  • C.R. 280 Routine Bridge Maintenance over I-10 - Traffic will be reduced to one lane over I-10 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, July 23 as crews perform routine bridge maintenance.
  • U.S. 331 in DeFuniak Springs Lane Closure- The northbound, outside will be closed between Bob Sikes Road and Bruce Avenue from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday, July 23 through Thursday, July 26 as crews refurbish manhole covers.
  • C.R. 183 Routine Bridge Maintenance over I-10 - Traffic will be reduced to one lane over I-10 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, July 26 as crews perform routine bridge maintenance.


All activities are weather dependent and may be delayed or re-scheduled in the event of inclement weather. Drivers are reminded to use caution, especially at night, when traveling in a work zone and to watch for construction workers and equipment entering and exiting the roadway.
