U.S. 98 PD&E Study

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is conducting a Project Development and Environment (PD&E) Study to analyze the existing characteristics, evaluate the community needs and impacts, and develop proposed conceptual improvements for S.R. 30 (U.S. 98) in Walton County, from C.R. 30A (near Sandestin) to west of the Phillips Inlet Bridge. The intent of the project is to provide improved traffic mobility by adding capacity on U.S. 98 as well as providing intersection and operational improvements. This project will also address existing safety issues along the corridor.

Over the next several months, FDOT will collect and analyze data to help develop project alternatives. Maps, drawings, and additional details will be provided as they become available for review on the project website, https://nwflroads.com/projects/437179-1

Engaging the public by sharing and receiving information is a key component of this process. You are invited to get involved! Send your comments and ideas (call, write, or email) regarding the proposed improvements to:

Alan Vann, FDOT Project Manager at (850) 330-1523; or by email at alan.vann@dot.state.fl.us; or via U.S. mail at 1074 Highway 90, Chipley, Florida 32428
