Amending the General Agriculture and Large Scale Agriculture Future Land Use Map Category Allowable Densities when Road Frontage Exists: Proposed technical and substantive amendment to Walton County Comprehensive Plan, specifically policies L-1.2.1 and L-1.2.2, amending the allowable residential density to one (1) unit per five (5) acres from one (1) unit per forty (40) acres within the Large Scale Agriculture category and one (1) unit per ten (10) acres within the General Agriculture category, where there is at least 100 feet of parcel road frontage on a County maintained roadway.
Also proposed are two companion amendments to the Walton County Land Development Code: 1) Amending Sections 2.02.01 and 2.02.02 pertaining to the Large Scale Agriculture and General Agriculture Zoning Districts changing the allowable density from one (1) unit per forty (40) acres and one (1) unit per ten (10) acres respectively, to one unit per five acres in cases where the proposed development parcel contains at least 100 feet of frontage along a County maintained roadway. 2) Amending Section 1.13.12 pertaining to Major Plats, increasing the threshold for requiring plat from four acre lots to five acre lots and including the option for un-platted lots with at least 100 feet of frontage on a County maintained roadway.
The workshop will be conducted at the DeFuniak Springs Board of County Commissioner board room with presentation and discussion.
