Beach Driving Permit - Disability Application

  1. Complete the application below. You will be required to upload any required documentation. Provide your current contact information including either phone or email for confirmation of approval of your annual disability beach driving permit and payment options. Notice: Violations of the provisions of Ordinance 2017-05 are subject to fines up to $500 and may result in permanent revocation of your beach access permit.

  2. ALL DOCUMENTS MUST BE IN APPLICANTS NAME. All required documentation may be scanned, uploaded and submitted online. Please upload all required documentation in regard to your application submission as it applies.

  3. Upload image copy of current driver's license.

  4. Upload image copy of current vehicle registration.

  5. Upload your proof of mobility disability documentation, i.e. Disability Placard, SSI Disability Letter, etc.

  6. If property is co-owned, provide proof of 51%+ ownership.

  7. Upload image copy of current trailer registration.

  8. All persons who wish to submit an application must understand and agree with all of the following terms and conditions.

  9. Liability Statement*

    The Board of County Commissioners is not liable for the actions of drivers permitted in accordance with this ordinance. (i.e. property damage, theft or other harm to persons)

  10. Vehicle Type*

    Permits may only be obtained if the registered vehicle on the application is a recognized 4x4/4-wheel drive vehicle that is licensed to be driven on highways. All-wheel drive only vehicles do not qualify.

  11. One Year Permit Limit*

    All permits are issued on a one year only basis and must be renewed annually.

  12. Permit Cost*

    The cost of an annual disability beach driving permit shall be in the amount of $10.00 USD for vehicle / $40.00 USD for trailer.

  13. I understand that I am being issued a “Disability Beach Driving Permit” for no fee other than the processing fee because I have shown proof that I have a mobility disability. I further understand: Walton County Ordinance 2017-05, as amended, requires;

  14. A. That this permit is only valid if I am physically in the permitted vehicle*

  15. B. That if I am not physically in/with the permitted vehicle the permit will be immediately removed and permanently revoked*

  16. C. That this beach access permit sticker must be permanently affixed to the back window or rear of the vehicle (taped on or affixed to a magnet is unacceptable)*

  17. D. The beach access permit receipt showing the name of the individual to whom it was issued must remain in the vehicle while being operated on the beach*

  18. E. That I must display a valid State of Florida “Disabled Persons Parking Identification Permit” in my vehicle while on the beach*
